Through The Looking Glass

This book cover for "Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There" by Lewis Carroll depicts Alice and many more characters in an ink blot. Through the Looking Glass is about a world on the other side of a mirror where everything is the same, but backwards. The book cover imagery of an ink blot reflects Alice's unique perception of the world and plays with the idea of reflection. Ink blot tests are used to gauge how someone perceives the world. This book cover pulls the reader in with Alice on her journey through this backward world with the juxtaposition between common perception and a creative and sometimes mad one.

The inside illustration of Alice is one of the original illustrations done by Sir John Tenniel.
